tbh isaac was fun enough that it got ripped off by 8 million games that do it just as well

enter the gungeon is the best one direct copy without a doubt
synthetik has some isaac DNA in it but turned it way more action-y
bonus points for noita which isn't a copy but is a real good spin on roguelike

Can't stand Gungeon. But I can't even think of a top down twin-stick style dungeon crawler in the roguelite space I do like. The only roguelite I'd play is 20XX which is just MMX, different genre entirely. Or the couple good card battlers

You see so many edge case things in art and when you know the artist is a tranny or enemy suddenly all those edge cases flip down on the bad side.
