I hated Slay the Spire before it was cool. I was brave enough to hate StS1. Are you?

I still say Monster Train and Card en Ciel are good but if you look at this genre and see Balatro and StS being the most popular I don't blame you for discarding the whole genre as shit.

Never actually played it but I keep hearing it is Mario Party but even more retarded and over the top so I suspect playing it vs AI isn't actually correct either.

I've couldn't stand FTL and bounced off Rift Wizard 1 and Noita. I can see the sort of person for whom Noita works and RW2 supposedly resolves the things I didn't like about RW1.

Part of the question is what you're looking for; the roguelike deckbuilder is the arcade end of the spectrum that you usually clear in 50 minutes. Of that I think Monster Train 1 and 2 are the best of the genre, and Slice and Dice is better still but it uses dice rather than cards.

The action roguelite is tougher to rate because it's a bit more of "arcade but with random level design instead of good" and I think 20XX is the only one of those I can outright recommend, roguelite MMX.

Classic real roguelikes, it is probably hard to beat DCSS. ToME is kinda there but they boiled away most of the rogue stuff so it's just Diablo, but I hit triple digit hours before souring on it so there's gotta be SOMETHING there. There is a person for whom Cogmind is made but he is not me. About the only one I have patience for though is Mystery Dungeon Shiren the Wanderer, preferably Shiren 6.
